ABOUT
Established in 2019, Osito’s Tap is a “speakeasy” inspired bar highlighting the art of craft spirits, beer, & cocktails, that brings a modern Latinx flair to a classic Chicago era. With a fresh and health conscious food menu, this community “speakeasy” is value driven in educating and creating a community space that is inclusive, fun, and historically remembering.
In the early 1900’s Little Village was once home to a predominately Czech immigrant community. The grey-stone architecture of that time currently houses Osito’s and can be seen throughout the community. Once home to a Bohemian bar and underground bookie joint, we have incorporated the legacy of this immigrant community in our design, food, and bar menu. A community legacy that continues to be prideful, hard-working, and a cultural force in Chicago.

OSITO WAS OUR FAMILY CHIHUAHUA/STORE MASCOT, NAMED AFTER A LITTLE BLACK BEAR BECAUSE OF HIS DISTINCT BLACK AND BROWN COAT.HE WAS BEST KNOWN FOR HIS CURIOSITY AND "TOUGH GUY" ACT DESPITE HIS SMALL STATURE. DEEP DOWN HE WAS A SWEETHEART.
Mike Moreno Jr:
For Mike Moreno Jr., Little Village is more than just home to Osito’s Tap, but it is where he sources his inspiration and passion for all that he does. With over 42-years and three generations of Moreno-family businesses, in Little Village, Mike Jr. wanted to add to the already culturally vibrant feel the community offers.
Blending his love and knowledge of all things craft – beer, tequila, & spirits – he opened Osito’s Tap in 2019 with the excitement of bringing residents of the South West side on a Mexican spirit and culinary journey. Having traveled across Mexico sourcing a variety of tequilas and mezcals, Mike Jr., hopes to educate and bring a newfound love for the versatility of these products. Products that can be found next door at Moreno’s Liquors, home to one of the largest tequila selections in the county.
